New Delhi: President Draupadi Murmu on Thursday said that dependence on fossil fuels is definitely reducing, but fossil fuel based energy is also necessary for India. Addressing the National Energy Conservation Awards ceremony, Murmu said, India has always acted as a responsible country in the field of clean energy.
He said, we have been clarifying from time to time that fossil fuel based energy is also necessary in our country. India is promoting clean coal technologies to make the process of coal extraction and utilization more efficient and environment friendly.
The President said, it is the result of our commitment towards the environment that India has moved from 30th to seventh place in the Climate Change Performance Index in a period of 10 years. The health and happiness of all of us lies in the preservation of nature and good health. If we use the available resources properly, nature and Mother Earth will But everyone's energy and other needs will be met without unnecessary burden. Murmu said that along with using resources properly, all stakeholders will have to promote energy efficiency and innovation. He suggested that energy saving measures have to be implemented on a large scale. He also said that energy saving is energy production and this message is very useful.
